What Is A FENSA Accreditation?
The many different accreditations we hold are very important to us as they demonstrate to our customers that Permaframe satisfies the industry standard and can be trusted to do the best possible job. One of our most prominent accreditations relates to FENSA (Fenestration Self Assessment Scheme).
Fenestration Self Assessment Scheme (FENSA)
Set-up in 2002 by the Glass and Glazing Federation, FENSA is a Competent Person Scheme that regulates firms involved in the glazing industry and ensures that they are complying with Building Regulations.
We have been a member of FENSA for several years. To be granted our membership status we had to pass several independent assessments to prove our proficiency at installing quality windows and doors.
Retaining our FENSA membership relies upon us continuing to do this as we are frequently monitored by FENSA’s assessors. Customer feedback also plays a significant role in determining whether we keep our member status.
FENSA certificate
When a homeowner appoints a FENSA member to fit new windows / doors at their home, they will be issued with a FENSA certificate, as has been the case since April 2002.
The purpose of the certificate is to authenticate that any windows / doors you had installed during your time in the property have been fitted to the industry standard.
This certificate should be stored away in a very safe place as you will need to pass it onto anyone who buys your property from you.
If you lose this certificate don’t panic! You can order a replacement certificate here at a cost of £20.
Insurance Backed Guarantee
Together with the certificate, you will also receive an Insurance Backed Guarantee at the conclusion of the project.
The Insurance Backed Guarantee gives you fantastic peace of mind as it covers you in the event of your installer ceasing to trade over a 20 year long period. This means you won’t be left out of pocket and are fully protected.
