Once you form a negative opinion of a house, you won’t often reassess that opinion, and it tends to be a property’s entrance that you base it on.
This is why first impressions are so important.
If you don’t feel that your home necessarily creates a great first impression, your entrance should be treated to a makeover, which will change that and peoples’ perceptions.
Replace your front door
One of the most prominent features of an entrance is a front door and we have lots of replacement front doors available at Permaframe.

We have so many coloured finishes. White is in there, of course, for the traditionalists amongst you, with our various grey shades being very popular with forward-thinking householders. A dual-coloured door may be worth considering if you fancy having different finishes on the door’s exterior and interior.
Add some plants
You don’t necessarily need a big budget to create an eye-catching entrance. Some plants framing your doorway could be enough to make it stand out.
A pair of topiary trees can often be seen on either side of a front door, both beautifully trimmed and sculpted.
We wouldn’t go too far with it and have an abundance of plants outside your door. Two should suffice and keep things minimalist.
Door accessories
The advisor in charge of organising any new door will introduce you to the hardware suite for your chosen door range, including many handle and door knocker styles.
We have knockers similar to those you see in ‘A Christmas Carol’ e.g. with a lion’s face, along with more modern knocker designs, such as chrome rings or bars.
A great finishing touch would be to have an oversized number plate either included in the door design itself or on the wall of your house.
There’s no reason to overthink things when it comes to an entrance. Just make a couple of statements, like those mentioned, and it will have a great impact.
